The House of Peace & Education, Inc.
is a nonprofit interfaith organization committed to counteracting violence
and promoting peace in the Greater Gardner area since 1996.
The House of Peace & Education, Inc., known familiarly as HOPE or HOPE House, serves its neighborhood in Gardner and the Greater Gardner area and the whole North Central Massachusetts region with educational programming, empowerment and opportunities to develop leadership skills.
Skilled staff provide job training and empowerment for women and academic support for children and teens after school and in the summer. Early childhood specialists offer Saturday on-site mentoring for young children in Grades K-2. HOPE's professional staff also provide parenting education and parenting support.
Our wonderful volunteers are a the core of our mission. Without them we could not succeed. Will you join us in assisting the HOPE children?

HOPE for Kids offers an after school program for children (Grades 2-6) with volunteer tutors for homework help, academic tutoring and computer enrichment. The Pals program provides Saturday mentoring for children in grades K-2. There is also a six week summer session for children entering grades 2-6 in the fall which includes academic tutoring as well as many fun activities. The teens entering grades 7-12 in the fall may learn leadership and job skills through Counselor-In-Training and Junior Counselor positions in our summer program.
HOPE for Women is a one-month individualized job-training program for women who wish to learn new skills and improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
The training programs include subjects such as resume and portfolio development, computer instruction: keyboarding and Microsoft Office®, overall employment training, career exploration and preparation. A workshop is offered in collaboration with Mount Wachusett Community College. There are internship opportunities in collaboration with the Greater Gardner Community Development Corporation.
HOPE offers programming for parents and their children to improve communication, learn new behavior patterns and build positive relationships.
