HOPE FOR KIDS PROGRAMS
Summer Sessions: July 7-August 15, 2008
Twenty-twenty-two children attend each session.
Session I: July 7-21 Session II: July 21-August 1 Session III: August 4-15
Each session runs Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Tutors: Are you a high school senior who does very well academically, or an adult who would enjoy assisting the children in academic enrichment? You will be excited to see the children grow in confidence and knowledge as they work with you individually for one hour each day. Role modeling and mentoring are also an important aspect of this position.
Tutors are scheduled from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. daily. If you wish, you are invited to stay for a delicious and nutritious lunch each day at 12:30 p.m. The Academic Director provides the necessary materials and supervision of tutors and students. If you are unable to commit time to tutoring for a two week session, one week would also be helpful.
Special Events: You are also welcome to share a special activity for a day once a week, or weekly throughout the three two-week sessions offered. We would like to learn about your idea. Volunteers have brought animals, musical demonstrations, yoga, science projects, and many fun arts and crafts projects to share.
