HOPE for Women

HOPE for Women is a one-month individually tailored program providing job skills for low-income women who wish to gain new competencies in order to enter the workforce, to get better jobs or to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.

The warm and caring environment of HOPE with individualized attention, small classes, intensive training, flexibility and continued support contributes to the success of the program. Women work at their own pace toward learning goals tailored to their individual needs and capabilities.

The career training program incorporates individualized computer instruction in office skills including keyboarding and Microsoft Office © applications. Computer instruction is tailored to match each woman’s incoming skill, learning style and employment goals.

Overall employment training, career exploration and career preparation are fostered with guest speakers, a workshop in collaboration with Mount Wachusett Community College, internship opportunities in collaboration with the Greater Gardner Community Development Corporation, resume and portfolio development.

Income-qualified women are helped to identify their skills, their career path and the steps they need to achieve their goals during the month of study as well as after graduation. Career guidance and support for the job continue in HOPE’s Job Club under the direction of a professional career counselor.
