HOPE for Kids

Picture
For kids with social, behavioral or
academic challenges, school can often be a struggle. For these kids, HOPE serves
as a patient, nurturing and trusted counselor. For kids living in poverty, those
who have witnessed or been victims of violence, or taunted by peers, HOPE offers a safe haven to begin working on their futures.

Our HOPE for Kids program works to prevent school dropout and break the cycle of violence by providing a strong mentoring model to increase educational success and to develop interpersonal skills in a safe and nurturing environment. Each child who comes to HOPE receives support towards reaching his or her academic, social and behavioral goals from HOPE’s staff of professional educators.  HOPE For Kids is an award-winning program of fun and learning. The program has several components:

Project Contact Summer Camp (Grades: 3 - 6)
      Counselors-in-Training and Junior Counselors (Grades: 7 - 12+)
HOPE for Kids Afterschool Program (Grades: 3 & 4)
 Pals (Grades: K - 2)
Teen HOPE (Grades: 5 - 7)

HOPE Job Readiness & Training Program

For women seeking to escape domestic violence, move from welfare to work, improve
their economic condition, or overcome unexpected personal or family trauma
through a health crisis, separation or job loss, HOPE Job Readiness & Training Program offers a path to a more secure future.
Our HOPE for Job Readiness & Training program includes a 8 week, 175 hour comprehensive
individualized computer and job-skills training program, along with follow-up and wraparound support for a year. The program seeks to assist low-income women in transition to their next step toward self-sufficiency, whether it is employment in a job with a living wage or continued education that will in turn lead to sustainable employment, and, to help women begin to overcome the societal and internal barriers that have prevented them from succeeding so they
can provide for themselves and their families adequately and with
dignity.
